Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about our custom epoxy tables? We’ve compiled answers to the most common inquiries to help you understand our process and offerings.

  • How much does a custom epoxy table cost?

Custom epoxy tables from Rustic River Designs typically range from $2,500 to $16,000+, depending on size, wood species, epoxy design, and base style. Larger pieces like conference tables or premium walnut slabs increase pricing due to material and labor complexity. Every piece is built to order and quoted individually.
  • How long does it take to build a custom table?

Most custom tables take 8–12 weeks from the first deposit. Larger or more complex builds, like conference tables or epoxy river designs, may take up to 14 weeks. Timelines can vary depending on design revisions, slab sourcing, and curing time.
  • What types of wood do you use?

We specialize in locally sourced Appalachian hardwoods including black walnut, maple (spalted, ambrosia, burl), white oak, cherry We are also known as a premier source for live edge Costa Rica imported monkey pod, parota and other varieties. Each slab is unique, giving every table a one-of-a-kind character.

  • Can I choose my own slab?

Yes—We source our lumber and slabs from both local and national sawmills. Clients are provided with our exclusive slab selections to curate a custom piece, with guidance available via email or phone throughout the process, ensuring the piece will work with the clients desired dimensions and purpose.

  • Are epoxy river designs customizable?

Absolutely. Epoxy color, opacity, metallic effects, and river flow can all be customized. Keep in mind that epoxy creates natural chemical reactions and movement, so patterns like swirls and depth will always be unique and cannot be fully controlled.
  • What finish do you use on your tables?

We use premium hard wax oil finishes and epoxy flood coats depending on the project. These finishes provide durability, water resistance, and a natural look while enhancing the wood grain. We also offer ceramic coatings for enhanced durability, helping protect against water rings and light surface scratches from everyday wear.

  • Are your tables durable for everyday use?

Yes—our tables are built for real-life use. With proper care, they are resistant to moisture, heat, and daily wear. We also offer upgraded ceramic coatings for added protection on high-use surfaces.

  • Do you offer delivery and installation?

Yes, we offer white-glove delivery throughout North Carolina and surrounding states. We ensure safe transport and placement, but once delivered, responsibility transfers to the client.

  • Will my table look exactly like the photos?

No two tables are identical. Because we use natural wood and handcrafted processes, variations in grain, color, and epoxy movement are expected and part of the design.

  • Can you add power outlets or cable management?

Yes—especially for desks and conference tables. We can pre-route channels and cutouts for power boxes if you provide specifications ahead of time
